About the Experience
Initium invites you to live an unforgettable experience in the exciting world of Swiss mechanical watches. Our various workshops in Geneva and Le Noirmont (Jura) take participants on an unusual discovery of the ancestral art of watchmaking, with the possibility of creating their Swiss-made watch!
Your introduction to watchmaking will be carried out on a manual ETA 6497 or automatic ETA 2892 or SW300 movement. You can indicate a preference between manual and automatic movement initiation when you register for the course.
Guided by the Master Watchmaker, dismantle a mechanical movement with manual or automatic winding in order to discover its secrets, then proceed to its reassembly (watch not included).
THEORY (45 minutes)
- Swiss watchmaking and its origins.
- Introduction to the operation of a mechanical manual or automatic winding movement.
- Composition of a mechanical watch and its casing.
PRACTICE (2:15 hrs)
- Disassembly and assembly of a Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement (Unitas 6497) or automatic (ETA 2892)
